The best marketing CramClub has ever had is students telling their friends about it. I see it in the data — a huge percentage of our signups come from someone sharing a link or mentioning us in a group chat. That kind of word-of-mouth is worth more than any ad campaign, and I want to reward it.
Starting today, every CramClub user has a personal referral link. Share it with friends. When they sign up and start studying, you both earn rewards.
How It Works
Your referral link. Find it in your profile or on the library dashboard. It's a unique URL that tracks signups back to you. You can copy it, share it directly, or send it through any messaging app.
Three reward tiers:
- Signup bonus: When your friend creates an account using your link, you both earn XP and Cram Crystals immediately. No conditions — just sign up.
- First activity bonus: When your friend completes their first study activity (answers a question, reviews a flashcard, finishes a lesson), you earn an additional bonus. This rewards real engagement, not just empty signups.
- Subscription bonus: If your friend upgrades to a paid plan, you earn a larger crystal reward. This is the big one — and it's because a paying student is someone who's genuinely getting value from the platform.
No limits. There's no cap on how many friends you can refer. The more people you bring in, the more you earn. Your referral dashboard shows your total signups, XP earned, and crystals earned from referrals.
Why We Built This
I'll be honest — this isn't purely altruistic. CramClub is a small, bootstrapped product. We don't have millions to spend on advertising. The most sustainable way for us to grow is through students who genuinely like the product telling other students about it.
But I also think referral programs should benefit everyone involved. Your friend gets a great study tool. You get rewarded for helping them find it. And CramClub gets to grow without spamming people with ads. That's a good deal all around.
Where You'll See It
Your referral link appears in a few places throughout the app:
- A banner on the library dashboard (dismissible if it's not your thing)
- A card in your profile and account area
- After completing quizzes, where you can share your score along with your referral link
- At streak milestones — hitting a 7-day or 30-day streak is worth celebrating, and sharing it with your referral link means your friends can join the fun
We tried to make it visible without being annoying. If we got the balance wrong, let me know.
Go share your link. Let's grow this thing together.
